THANK YOU VERY MUCH

Today started out and end great. Joe and Bill left the clubhouse for Bear Brook State Park to bring the groomer home. The two of them had to deal with many fallen trees. Chris J and (someone else, sorry I forgot your name) left from the clubhouse and headed for BB. They hooked up with 6 more men at Dubbies to meet and help Joe. I just wanted to thank you very much.

Second Crew:
Steve, larry, Pete, Steve, Joe, Andy , and myself, covered Manchester Water Works. All trails are clear to pass except for the Maze cross trails. We will need another day to finish them. The highlight of the day was when I went through a hugh deep puddle. Everyone worked hard and did a great job. Thank you very much.

Nothing broken and no one hurt.
It was a win, win day.

It was a great day to do trail work. Sun temps got up to about 50. Left the clubhouse a little after 8 and got back just before 4. There is enough firewood around the lake to keep the clubhouse warm for a few years. A lot of people using the trails today, family walks, bike riding. A lot of "thank you" from the passing groups. A nice group from the club made a hard day of work fun and rewarding. Now to try to get up to the great north woods and get that last 400 miles in.

I want to that new durham and nh atv for clearing over 60 trees so u could get ur groomer back over to there. the atv club and friends did this with out question even though the sledders continue to bash them every season. most things in this state would never get down without them. I wish someday u realize the importance of these clubs and people. they are dedicated t one and other and they come together and help out in a pinch in solid numbers. so thanks again atvers u did a wonderfull job clearing so much that we can usse the trails next yr!

I believe your a member of this club and as such it's "our" groomer. It was great that these clubs stepped up and helped with the work for this storm. It was harder last year with all the snow on the ground, though Pawtuckaway took the brunt last year (haven't checked it out yet this year). We have a strong club and every year do hundreds of hours of maintenance on the trails we oversee. This doesn't include the hundreds of hours our groomer operators put in grooming and taking care of trees during the winter months. Club members spent 50 man hours cleaning up the Mountain trail this past fall alone. For the Fundy Project we put in over 250 hours of volunteer time spreading material and building bridges this past year. We have one more large one to build there, but over the past 7 years or so we have rebuilt/redecked every bridge within Bear Brook and Pawtuckaway except two. There is one on the Archery trail that we will be looking at soon. These numbers don't include any of the time that Ray and his helpers put in creating signs, installation and fixing. With the snow gone the work is just beginning.

Yes it was nice of the ATVers to help out. However it is the snowmobilers thoughout the state that do most of the work as far as I can see, building and rebuilding bridges and maintaning trails year round.

Sorry for the late post! Been sick :( - But I wanted to say thanks to everyone who came out and helped as well! Joe and I were talking the Thursday night before the work party, and we were honestly not optimistic that we would even be able to get the groomer back in one days work.... We were very pleasantly surprised by the turn out of volunteers! We were able to get all the gates closed and locked, and the groomer back home in about 6 hours!

We def have our work cut out for us this summer, lots of trails are gonna need some work! So dont forget to check the forums over the summer for work parties! We always need help!

But thanks again for everyone who came out and lent a hand! Awesome job by all!

side hack u are correct on this account. mostly due to the fact those trails are off limits to atvs. but in maine the story is far different. just be nice to the atv folk. and u will not hear my complain. they deserve the same respect and apreciation. for doing all that they do as well.

Please Mr. Wonderful, whoever you are YOU stop badmouthing the Snowmobilers. If it wasn't for this club we would have absolutely no trails in this area at all. It was our club that got it all started, not the 4 wheelers. We got the contract to do Bear Brook State Park and we are the ones that cut the trails from Bear Brook all the way to the Tower Hill area not the 4 wheelers. We bought the land that our clubhouse is on and also cut the trails to the Tower Hill Pond area. All of a sudden the 4 wheelers do a work party and they are gods, cut the crap. We would not be badmouthing them if they stopped thrashing our trails in the winter. If you owned a snowmobile you would see the mess they create; just after we groom the trails they are out there, rutting it all up and then it stinks to ride because snowmobilers like smooth trails and atvs like bumps. So I have a solution let them have a season from May 23 to October 15 and the whole problem would go away and then we would really get along. By the way when was the last time you went to a meeting I would like to meet you and it would be nice to see you at a work party I have plenty of them on Friday nights as well as Saturday. I don't mind members complaining if they are involved, but I can't stomach people that complain and do nothing.
